⠀
It is known that the first seaworthy school in the Slavic territories was organized in Perast. Peter I repeatedly sent here the noble sons to study with Marko Martinovich, a famous captain.
⠀
We are starting our TOP-5 things to do in this cozy town:
⠀
1. See the main city attraction - the Church of St. Nicholas. It was built already in 1616.
2. Visit the city museum located in the former Bujovici palace.
3. Take a walk along the promenade of Perast. It is difficult to name the embankment big - from end to end you can walk in 30 minutes (1.2 km).
4. Go to the island of the Virgin on a reef. A rather interesting museum was built in the Church of the Virgin Mary, an icon is also stored there, which the sailor’s wife embroidered with hair and expensive thread for 25 years, while her husband went to sea, then returned back with threads from overseas countries.
5. Dine on an oyster farm. In the vicinity of Perast there are several farms where oysters and mussels grow. Prices for seafood in Boka Kotor Bay are lower than prices for restaurants in Budva.
